Ella Rochelle-Lawton

Illustration, Brand, and Educational Design
for & with people

As a creative educator I have worked with 80+ corporate teams. As a designer, I have worked with UC Berkeley, Stanford, Block Inc.,and more!

Learn about the inspiration behind my work.

I just shared the story behind my work in design, public art, and education at Figma's Config. "After studying art and design at UC Berkeley, Ella Rochelle-Lawton ran off to join the circus and designed a billboard about it. Since then, teaching street art history and spray paint has taught her that the best design lives on the street, where people can touch it and make it their own. In this talk, she shares how working with teams from Adobe, Google, and Figma transformed her view of design from pixels to people. She explores how street art, from the local legends to international artists, build belonging, redefine public space, and inspire community throughout the design process."

Capabilities

I'm an educator, designer, and maker. My best projects come from sharing real stories and making memories through experience design, education, illustration, and brand design.

The Approach

I am all about people, place, and presence. I don't believe that good design exists in isolation. Instead, I see the best design work comes from messy places with community hands working together.

My process involves finding connection, logic, and purpose in busy environments and making those processes and spaces accesible for  all.

Design is storytelling. Some say it's problem solving, but I've never had a problem that couldn't be solved by sharing where one's coming from.
